I just wanted to start out by saying Happy Birthday the the NSCC. For 41
years we have produced some of the finest citizens in the country. The
adults who make it happen thanks. To the Cadets who have passed through
our doors, and those that are with us today, you are our inspiration,
and you make us proud.
The Resources Page is five years old this month, and in those five years
we have been accessed over 300,000 times. Not bad for a program of
10,000 people. That means everyone in the Corps uses the
Resources Page at least three times per month! We are averaging a little
over 300 hits per day.
I appreciate the feedback I get from the field it provides me with
insight to what we need as a Corps to do our jobs better. But please remember
that I am only one person, and the entire Internet Development Group is
only seven people. We are all NSCC Officers just like you. we have jobs,
families, children, and other NSCC commitments, most of us are Unit Commanding
Officers and Regional Directors. With that said, please be patient.
Everything will get done.
For example we introduced nine new administrative forms. Not much
but they were 2 years in the making. They were approved in about
a week worth of review and changes, then put online. And even then
some corrections needed to be made. Most PDF files were added immediately
with form fields installed. Each form field takes about 30 seconds
to program. Next time you have chance, count the number of field
on the Officer Application (NSCADM
003) or a Medical History Form
(NSCADM 021), please note each Check Box is a separate field.
And if a form has to be regenerated from a Word document into a
PDF file. All the forms fields are erased and have to be redone.
This has happened twice with the Officer
Application (NSCADM 003) in the past week. The form fields are
there now.
We have been experiencing a server problem with some of the forms and
certificates that are in Word format not being accessible. This problem
has been identified and should be corrected no later than Saturday. If
you try to download a DOC form and it gives you an error, please use the
PDF version. If a PDF version is not available, I apologize for the inconvenience,
try back in a day or so, the file should be there.
Thanks again for all your support, and sorry for being so long winded. LCDR
Scott D. Oram, NSCC, Resources Pages Administrator.
