 8 February1998 MEMORANDUM FOR DISTRIBUTION
1. During the summer of 1998 there will be numerous opportunities for qualified Sea Cadets to participate in various foreign exchange programs. The following list of the programs presently scheduled:
* Dates will be annouced in the 1998 Summer Training Schedule (STS) 2. Applications and selection for each program will be made individually. Cadets desiring to apply for more than one program must state their first and second choices, only one program per cadet. Cadets should not purchase airline tickets until notified of selection by NHQ. 3. Bermuda information was distributed previously by separate NHQ Memorandum dated 2 January 1998. The U.K. Exchange Information (for United Kingdom (1) for 13-28 June) was distributed in Information Letter 3-98 dated 22 January. In recent years this has been the only exchange with the U.K, and this will very likely be the case again this year. Additional uniform and other information for cadets selected for Canada East/West, Sweden, and The Netherlands will be provided to cadets selected. 4. No Sea Cadet exchange will take place unless escort requirements are met. Additional information, concerning the identification of required escort(s), will be published in the Summer Training Schedule.
