LEGISLATIVE ALERT 6-02

The House of Representatives and the Senate have both approved the Conference Report for the FY 2003 Defense Appropriations Bill.  The bill includes $1 million for the Naval Sea Cadet Corps in Title II, Budget Activity 3, Line 7700; Navy Operations and Maintenance, Training and Recruiting.  The bill must now be made ready for the President, who is expected to sign the bill into law late next week.  Thanks to all who took the time to write their Senators and Representatives asking their support for the Cadets.  Now is the time to write a THANK YOU to your members of
Congress.  This is important.  Remember, following the elections to invite your Congressmen/women and their staff to visit your Cadets during an award ceremony or other appropriate time.  Keep them involved with "their" Cadets.
