10 February 2000 NSCC INFORMATION LETTER 5-01
1. Purpose. The purpose of this information letter is to reiterate various policies and instructions which have been promulgated previously and separately, but are not being adhered to by all commands. 2. Background. Reference (a) contains most of the basic background for conducting business in the NSCC. From time to time various action/policy letters are promulgated to the field, which advised all concern of changes in NSCC policies. A large number of these changes are a direct result of the Regional Directors' Conference held in the fall of each year. 3. Discussion. Enclosure (1) contains information on policies which have been promulgated to the field, but which have not been adhered to or followed by all NSCC personnel. Accordingly, these items are repeated here and are to be followed by all units. Recommended changes in policy or recommendations for improvement to the NSCC program should be submitted via the chain of command. 4. Action. NSCC/NLCC unit commanding officers will insure all existing Action/ Information Letters are available to adult unit personnel. These policies shall be discussed with all old and newly reporting personnel. It is imperative the proper word gets out to unit personnel. 5. Cancellation. This letter is cancelled when all information contained herein is incorporated into existing publication and manuals.
