![]() 2 January 2001 NSCC INFORMATION LETTER 1-01
1. The NSCC National Chairman has approved the action of the 2000 Officer Selection Board, which recommended promotion of officers listed in enclosures (1) and (2) to the ranks indicated. This years board fully excercised it's authority to caveat promotions, in accordance with precept guidance, when considered in the best interest of the NSCC Program and the individual promotio candidate. Accordingly, each promotion list, encl (1) and (2), is divided into two parts; a promotion list and a conditional promotion list. For all names on the promotion list, date of rank, unless specifically indicated otherwise, will be 1 January 2001. Promotion certificates and congratulatory letters will be forwarded at the earliest possible date. Each name listed on each conditional promotion list had one or more deficiencies that precluded full, unrestricted promotion on 1 January 2001. A promotion letter will be sent to each persone listed, on each of the conditional lists, detailing deficiencies and what he or she must do to get promoted in 2001. 2. The Officer Promotion Board met at NSCC Headquarters and reviewed the individual service records of officers being recommended for promotion. The promotion board consisted of a representative from the NSCC Board of Directors, members of NHQ staff, NSCC Headquarters Representatives, and one Coast Guard Officer, a prior Sea Cadet. 3. All Commanding Officers are reminded that height and weight standards, as promulgated in NSCC Regulations, are to be strictly enforced. Personnel not meeting these standards will wear the alternate civilian uniform until they meet prescribed height/weight standards. 4. National Chairman Bruce B. Smith and National President Jim Ward join the NSCC staff in congratulating those selected for promotion. 5.
