1. PURPOSE: To advise all units and field staff of NSCC Headquarters and Headquarters Representative personnel changes. 2. BACKGROUND: The Southeast Region NSCC Headquarters Representative position having cognizance over regions 5, 6, and 10 has until recently been filled by CAPT Hugh Carroll, USNR (Ret.) In February of this year CAPT Carroll vacated the position after four years of outstanding and dedicated service to the NSCC. CAPT Carroll has relocated to Florida, and we wish him well in all his new endeavors. 3. DISCUSSION: Effective 01 APRIL 1998, CAPT Ron Baker, USNR (Ret.) who until this date has served as NSCC Headquarters Deputy Director, will assume duties as the newly assigned Headquarters Representative for the Southeast Region. CAPT Henry J. Nyland, (USNR (Ret.) will assume the duties as the Deputy Director 01 APRIL 1998. CAPT Nyland joins the NSCC Headquarters staff as completing a full career as a TAR officer. His most recent assignments was Deputy Commander, Naval Reserve Readiness Command Region Six in Washington DC. His prior assignments include duty with Washington DC area senior echelon staffs including OPNAV, BUPERS, and NAVSEASYSCOM. He has had command of Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Centers in Greensboro NC, Lubbock TX, and Amarillo, TX. And has served on Naval Reserve Readiness Command staffs in Scotia, NY, and Great Lakes IL. Also operational / fleet assignments including USS NEW ORLEANS (LPH-11), Commander Amphibious Group Four, and assignment as a Naval Advisor to Coastal Group 15, Republic of Vietnam (RVN).
