NSCC INFORMATION LETTER 3-98
1. PURPOSE. To provide information on the US/United Kingdom (UK) Visit scheduled for the summer of 1998 2. BACKGROUND. Each year the U. S. Naval Sea Cadet NHQ schedules a formal exchange withthe British Sea Cadets NHQ. This year will be no different, and there will be an announced formal exchange with the United Kingdom. In addition, the Commanding Officer, DESERT STORM Division has made arrangements for a contingent of the U. S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps to visit the United Kingdom this coming summer. This will be the fourth summer that DESERT STORM has organized a visit to England. The three previous summer visits were extremely successful, and it is expected that all available openings for this year will be relatively quickly filled. 3. DISCUSSION. Enclosures (1) and (2) contain pertinent infomation on the DESERT STORM UK/RN Visit. Because of the uncertainty of NSCC Officers volunteerng as escorts for the formal exchange, NSCC personnel interested in visiting Great Britain, in the summer of 1998, are encouraged to contact LCDR Kemp as first choice for a visit this summer. All information and arrangements for this visit will be coordinated by LCDR Kemp. Please note that prior screening is required and all NSC-22s must be approved by LCDR Kemp, who will forward them to NHQ for orders. Consistent with other foreign exchange programs, all cadets must be E-3 or above, 16 years old, and recipients of the NSCC Cadet Citation Ribbon. 4. CANCELLATION. This information letter is cancelled 1 July 1998.
